P90X Pull Up Bar

p90x pull up barThe P90X pull up bar (also called the P90X chin up bar) is used for lots of the program’s upper body workouts.  It’s much more than just a bar.  Its unique design offers up to 12 totally different grip positions.  Durable and comfortable, it can be easily mounted on any door frame in your house.  The handles are foam and not steel to prevent hand cramping, and it’s small and easy to store.

One of the things reviewers liked about the P90X pull up bar is that it’s easy to assemble.  It comes with 5 easy pieces that you can put together in minutes.  They even provide the wrench and hex key that you need for tightening the bolts.  The easy-to-follow instructions walk you through it.  It also has mounts that work as a safety feature to keep it from slipping when excess weight is applied.

Buyer Beware: There are many imitators of this product that sell a similar product with the same picture. These cheaper versions of the P90X pull up bar are knock-offs and are made with cheaper and less durable materials. Be sure to buy the official P90X chin up bar.

P90X Resistance Bands

p90x resistance bandsThe P90X resistance bands are an essential part of the fat-burning and muscle-toning of this exercise routine.  Just like free weights, you can take them with you and do them anywhere.  Unlike free weight, they’re light and easy to carry.

The really cool thing about the P90X resistance bands is that they’re color coded, and this color coding ranges from lowest to highest resistance level.  You can start with the easy ones and work your way up as you get used to them and build strength.

The bands have foam covered handles so that they’re as comfortable as possible.  They come with extra soft-grip handles which you can use with any band.  You can also customize your workout even more by shortening or lengthening the bands to control tension.

Free Weights

Free weights are another bit of P90X equipment needed.  These can be simple dumbbells, and you can choose whichever weight you’re comfortable with.  Women are advised to use lighter weights because they help to tone muscles; heavier weights are for building bulk

Another piece of P90X equipment is a push-up stand or Perfect Push-Up.  These are not necessary; you can do the program without them.  But, they help you to get the most out of your push-ups, especially if you’re not accustomed to doing them.

One of the great things about this program is that there is not much P90X equipment needed.  The gear is just there to help you maximize your workout, and all of it is flexible and customizable so that you can make it most effective for you.
