The P90X Nutrition Plan
One of the things that make the P90X exercise program so effective is the nutrition plan that comes with it. The set comes with 13 DVDs full of calorie-burning, muscle-building exercises, and the P90X nutrition plan is an extra that’s thrown in. No exercise program, no matter how effective, is going to work unless you eat right.
In order to make the program as comprehensive as possible, they’ve included the P90X nutrition plan to help you get results. The P90X nutrition plan goes with the 13-week DVD program. It tells you exactly what you should be eating, as well as what you should be avoiding. Have It Your Way
The excellent thing about the P90X meal plan is its flexibility. The guide gives you two options. You can either follow its meal plan, or use its portion plan. The portion plan simply tells you how much of each type of food you should be eating per week. The meal plan actually sets out sample meals for you to follow. This makes it a complete no-brainer, which really helps those of us with busy lives.
The P90X Diet Has 3 Phases:
Fat Shredder
The P90X meal plan starts with the Fat Shredder. It covers the first four weeks of the program. To go along with your workout routine, it emphasizes low carbohydrate intake and a high amount of protein. Reducing carbs helps the workout get maximum fat-burning results. Adding more protein to your diet helps to build muscle mass.
Energy Booster
Energy Booster sets the P90X diet for the rest of the program. If you want, you can switch it up to the 3rd phase, Endurance Maximizer, to really build muscle and endurance. Energy Booster keeps protein intake high so that you can build muscle, but it also adds the carbs back in. Complex carbohydrates, if used with a good workout routine, give you the energy you need to train harder. Energy Booster lets you start eating the carbohydrate-rich food you’ve been missing, like pasta and whole wheat bread. It gives clear guidelines on what’s okay and when.
Endurance Maximizer
Endurance Maximizer boosts complex carbohydrates. The idea is to increase your endurance so that you can get the most out of your workouts. The idea behind the P90X nutrition plan is to give you the most out of your workout. It’s all about providing the energy, stamina and muscle-building nutrients that you need. It’s easy to follow and there’s even a bit of flexibility; you can use the portion plan to eat whatever foods you love. According to the American Heart Association, about 900,000 to 1 million Americans die of heart disease each year! This means that we are more likely to die from heart disease than any other cause. This gives us all the more reason to not just workout but to also be very serious about what we feed our bodies. Prevention is always the key.
