How Fitness Programs Can Help You Succeed

Personal Trainer?

For most of us, hiring a personal trainer at upwards of $100 per hour is not a feasible option. Not only is it too expensive, but it also takes up a lot of time that most of us just don’t have. I would just have a really hard time paying someone to babysit my while I workout anyways.

Gym Membership?

The other popular option for getting in shape is to pay for a gym membership. This is definitely less expensive than hiring a personal trainer, but still can get pricey depending on the gym. The biggest challenge with a gym membership is finding the time to actually go. This is especially true if you have kids or work a full time job or both. The other problem is that many gyms are overcrowded and working out amongst bodybuilders can be a very intimidating and uncomfortable experience.

Fitness Programs?

Finally, the last option would be to work out in the comfort of your own home. Now, you could go out and buy thousands of dollars worth of exercise equipment and create a full gym in your own home, but that is not feasible for most of us. The other option is to get some sort of fitness program that you can watch on your television.

This is a great option because for under $100 you will have everything that you need to succeed with an exercise plan. This also includes your own private personal trainer that will guide you through the entire exercise program on your television. You also don’t have to deal with the crowds at the gym or worry about what to do with the kids.

These fitness programs like Zumba fitness, P90X or the Brazil Butt Lift program are all great choices depending on what you like to do. Some of these programs are focused more on latin dancing, some like P90X are more geared towards a full body workout, some are more focused on pilates exercises, so there really is a great fitness program for everyone.

Combining these programs with a healthy and balanced diet as well as some cardio exercise like walking are all the pieces that you need to succeed with your health and fitness goals.

Living A Healthy Lifestyle

Living a healthy lifestyle really is the key to long-term health and fitness success. Fad diets are not part of this equation, in fact, these temporary diets are the catalyst of the dreaded yo-yo dieting cycle.

Fad Diets Do Not Work!

As a fitness instructor over the past 10 years, I have seen the damage that fad diets have caused so many different types of people. The main problem with fad diets is that people who have tried them often say that it worked because they initially lost weight very fast, but they always fail to mention that they eventually gained all the weight back plus 10 pounds!

If you lost weight on a diet, but eventually gained all that weight back, then the diet did not work, Period!

How To Live A Healthy Lifestyle

Through my experience as a trainer, I have come to the conclusion that the ONLY way to successfully lose weight and get the body that you have always dreamed of is to focus on changing your lifestyle gradually.

Forget the fad diets and start focusing on eating a healthy and balanced diet. Eat smaller portions and begin exercising. When I say exercise, I mean start small and gradually work your way up a few times per week.

It is very important to not cut out all the foods that you love. Just figure out ways to cut out some of the heavy fats, starches and sugars. If you cut out all the foods that you love, then you will not last and you will give up fairly quickly.

All you have to do is some basic research on how to make your favorite foods a little healthier. Try to incorporate as many fruits and vegetables into your meals that you possibly can.

Eat Smaller Portions

You really need to retrain your metabolism so that it is working for you and not against you. You can do this by eating a smaller portion during breakfast, lunch and dinner and eating healthy snacks between those meals. This will kick your metabolism into high gear and you will become a calorie burning machine.

Think of your metabolism like a campfire. If you start a fire and don’t put any wood on it, then it will eventually just burn out, but if you continue to feed the fire, then it will continue to burn as long as it has fuel. The same goes for your body and its ability to efficiently burn calories. Keep feeding the fire small amounts and it will continually burn calories for you.

A healthy lifestyle is not difficult to achieve, but it is the long-term solution to a successful health and fitness journey. The quick and easy fix is never the solution! Focus on living a healthy lifestyle and your life will change for the better.
